Wayfinding Designer

We’re looking for a Signage & Wayfinding Designer to join our team. Someone who thinks strategically, designs beautifully, and brings fresh ideas to the table.

Our current projects span arts and culture, residential, commercial, and recreation — each with its own set of challenges and opportunities. The role is hands-on and varied, from conducting site audits and crafting strategies to designing and documenting physical signage.

This role is based in our Highgate Hill studio in Brisbane, with the option for a part-time or full-time role. If this sounds like you, we’d love to chat.

Goldi is an award-winning design studio specialising in exhibitions, wayfinding and branding.

Driven by a passion for the arts, culture, and the built environment, our mission is to make a positive impact on individuals, businesses, and communities through creative, purposeful, and powerful designs.

We are a small (but growing) and enthusiastic team, offering our clients expert design, effortless collaboration, and exceptional results. Working collaboratively with architects, landscape architects, builders and clients we create wayfinding and experiential designs that energise spaces and connect with the people that visit and inhabit them.

What you’ll do
  • Conduct on-site surveys and signage audits 
  • Deliver and/or lead multiple, often complex projects from concept through to completion
  • Develop signage and wayfinding strategies for interior and exterior spaces
  • Design visually engaging and purposeful signage, including directional, informational, and identification signage
  • Collaborate with clients and the team to co-ordinate and deliver designs
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and design reports 
  • Rollout existing signage systems across multiple sites
  • Produce detailed design documentation and specifications for fabrication and installation
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and relevant regulations
What we are looking for
  • 3+ years experience in a similar design role
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering complex wayfinding projects.
  • A strong portfolio and design aesthetic
  • A driven and pro-active attitude, with great project ownership skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
  • Good communication skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills (essential)
  • Skilled in developing and working with design guidelines.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Must have the right to work in Australia
