The Caboolture Regional Art Gallery exhibition Yield is a contemporary unearthing of Australia’s agricultural identity, tracing the legacies of early farming practices and their enduring impact on the land today.

Designing the identity for Yield began with a single question… ‘How do you capture the changing of the land?’
We explored ideas that reflected the tension between nature and control, finally landing on a concept that symbolised this shift: with a theme of ‘Dominating Nature’ responding to the subtheme of agriculture as an instrument of control.
Wild, organic lines are overruled by the straight, human-made lines of cultivation – a visual metaphor for the settler-colonial urge to tame and systematise the natural world.
The result invites reflection on how these systems continue to shape our relationship with the land. It is a visual language that feels both grounded and uneasy, an example of how design can tell stories about the world we shape.

Goldi also designed the exhibition room sheet, which extended the visual identity into print. The publication features an interpretive essay that delves deeper into the exhibition’s curatorial themes, guiding visitors through the artworks and the broader cultural narratives they explore.

Extending beyond the gallery, Goldi designed a wrap-around graphic for the Creative Space, an interactive area where visitors can participate in hands-on activities inspired by the exhibition.
This space translates the visual identity into a playful and tactile environment, encouraging curiosity, engagement and deeper connection to the exhibition’s central themes.

Yield is a contemporary unearthing of our cultivated identity. Through artworks from local, national and internationally recognised artists, the exhibition digs deep into this country’s agricultural history.
Branching off from the story of prominent local Dr Joseph Bancroft – leader in experimental agriculture and medicine –Yield considers the legacies of early agricultural practices and how we continue to be impacted by them today.
